Grey Friar’s Quarter, Gloucester

Fire sprinkler protection to 25 new build town houses in Gloucester for Linden Homes working with The Guinness Partnership.

A wing from a Roman bronze sculpture, discovered by archaeologists during construction of Linden Homes’ Greyfriars Quarter development, has been deposited at the Museum of Gloucester and is now on public display.

Ecotect designed, installed and commissioned 25 Blueflow® fire sprinkler systems which were fed from a 50mm mains water supply provided by others to individual valve sets and flow switches located in each dwelling.

Designed on a dedicated plumbing circuit, the sprinkler heads operate independently: the nearest sprinkler will activate triggered by heat from the fire. For example, fire in a bedroom will only activate the sprinkler(s) in that room. Cooking fumes and smoke from cigarettes will not activate the sprinkler system.
